In the aftermath of the devastating New Orleans terror attack, @erin_molan, once again, just saying it how it is.

Bravo Erin for your strong, unwavering commitment to support good over evil.

I agree with Erin. Every single person who held a sign that said ‘globilize the Intifada’ or supported Hamas as freedom fighters or dehumanized Zionists or called for the elimination of Israel is a useful idiot for global jihad.

And what does global jihad bring?
It’s a one word answer: TERROR

I’ve just read @gemmatognini_ in today’s @the.australian - her first reflection after her recent visit to Kibbutz K’far Aza and the Nova festival site in the South of Israel.

Gemma’s words struck a chord with me. The first quote is exactly how I felt when I was there in May.
7 October was no ordinary killing spree. I could feel and see the savagery and barbarism with every footstep, at every turn, in everything the Hamas terrorists did.

The massacre on 7 Oct was not resistance.
It was unfathomable and unacceptable evil on every level.

Gemma’s second quote refers to our PM @albomp and foreign minister Wong, and again I agree with Gemma wholeheartedly. How can they possibly take the position they have without seeing for themselves what happened on that horrific day. It’s beyond me. This is another reason we need a Liberal government at the next election.

For the first time in 20 years, Chanukah (eve) falls on Christmas day. It won’t happen again until 2184.

So it’s the perfect year to bring out this little fried potato beauty - it ticks all the festive season boxes!

A giant, golden crisp-edged potato latke (there’s the Chanukah bit) topped with lashings of rich sour cream (indulgent!), Victorian @yarvalleycaviar (a nod to Australia and it’s sort of red) and snipped chives (there’s your green!) And it can feed one, two or a crowd, as you wish. It’s a reworked version of the traditional latke, perfect for Chanukah, Christmas and summer holiday eating.

I am a proud Jewish Australian (or perhaps nowadays more of an Australian Jew…) who has always loved living in a country that celebrates Christmas, and the festive season has always filled me with joy.

I can speak for SO SO SO many who I know share this view.

A voice on what’s right and wrong.
On supporting good over evil.
On supporting women’s rights.
For refusing to be part of the silent majority.
A voice for change.
Unafraid.
Courageous.
Outspoken.
Eloquent.

Today on @unitednations HUMAN RIGHTS DAY we stood arm in arm with Jewish women (and a few men!) in Martin Place, Sydney, Australia.

Similar vigils were held in Melbourne and Perth.

Our community calls for the release of all the hostages still being held in Gaza. It is a human rights issue!!

We held a 30 minute silent vigil.
No shouting.
No threats.
No violence.
No intimidation.
No disruption.
The way it should be.

So much to say today and much of it is being said all over socials.

This will do me for starters.

It’s time for a change of government in this country and the election can’t come soon enough.

The damage that has been caused by the action in the U.N by Australia and the inaction in the streets in the face of violent and hate-filled anti-Israel antisemitic protests has caused the situation we are in today.

#Bring the light back: Chanukah Campaign for Hostage Families

This Chanukah, we stand with the families of hostages and the Hostage Forum to raise vital funds and show support.

How you can help:

Donate $50 (tax-deductible) to receive a BRING THEM HOME candle holder package, including eight yellow candles—one for each night of Chanukah. Light them in prayer for the hostages’ safe return, and continue to use the holder each Shabbat.

Pick up your package at locations in Sydney and Melbourne locations (form for pick up info to be emailed once your donation is received).

Share your candle lighting on social media with #BringBackTheLight to spread hope and raise awareness.

Together, we can keep the light shining and bring support to the hostage families 🙏💙🎗️🇮🇱
