Today on @unitednations HUMAN RIGHTS DAY we stood arm in arm with Jewish women (and a few men!) in Martin Place, Sydney, Australia.

Similar vigils were held in Melbourne and Perth.

Our community calls for the release of all the hostages still being held in Gaza. It is a human rights issue!!

We held a 30 minute silent vigil.
No shouting.
No threats.
No violence.
No intimidation.
No disruption.
The way it should be.

So much to say today and much of it is being said all over socials.

This will do me for starters.

It’s time for a change of government in this country and the election can’t come soon enough.

The damage that has been caused by the action in the U.N by Australia and the inaction in the streets in the face of violent and hate-filled anti-Israel antisemitic protests has caused the situation we are in today.

This Chanukah, we stand with the families of hostages and the Hostage Forum to raise vital funds and show support.

How you can help:

Donate $50 (tax-deductible) to receive a BRING THEM HOME candle holder package, including eight yellow candles—one for each night of Chanukah. Light them in prayer for the hostages’ safe return, and continue to use the holder each Shabbat.

Pick up your package at locations in Sydney and Melbourne locations (form for pick up info to be emailed once your donation is received).

Share your candle lighting on social media with #BringBackTheLight to spread hope and raise awareness.

Together, we can keep the light shining and bring support to the hostage families 🙏💙🎗️🇮🇱

Today, November 25, 2024, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the UN and women’s organizations are launching the #NoExcuse campaign.

We are all asking: #WhatsYourExcuse?

There is #NoExcuse for #VIOLENCE
There is #NoExcuse for #ABUSE
There is #NoExcuse for #KIDNAPPING
There is #NoExcuse for #RAPE
There is #NoExcuse for #MURDER
And there is #NoExcuse for #SILENCE

For over a year, international organizations have remained silent in the face of the unimaginable reality of Israeli women held captive by Hamas under substandard conditions, without fundamental human rights, and subjected to mental and physical abuse. Human rights organizations led by strong women are still silent.
It’s the heartbreak of realizing that their humanity, their cries for help, are seemingly less significant to organizations whose missions promise otherwise.
The failure to advocate for Israeli women sends a chilling message: No woman’s life truly matters when it’s politically inconvenient.

We are all asking:
#WhatsYourExcuse?

Tomorrow (Nov 25) we will mark the ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women’.

13 Israeli women are still held by Islamist terrori$ts, exposed to abuse, r@pe, humiliation and oppression.

The @unwomen organization is responsible for our sisters but it has abandoned them. It has failed in its mission to care for our sisters and secure their immediate release.

We demand from @official_simabahous, Executive Director of the @unwomen to take action now. Please use your voice and send her an email and demand the release of the 13 Israeli women hostages: ecutiveoffice@unwomen.org; sima.bahous@unwomen.org

Join this movement by sharing this post with others and/or by making your own (simply by holding up the same sign and tagging 3 women in key positions) to help spread the word.
